We've started the ordering process for a 2007 MINI Cooper S. MINI has launched their new configurator at MINIUSA.com and we've already spent way too much time adding and subtracting options.

In anticipation of a new season of autocrossing in a new car, we got a new bright orange XL G Force Racing Gear helmet. This helmet is under a hundred bucks with it's M2000 rating, but does the job for us at an autocross. And no one mistakes it for theirs!

We're more than a little excited about our newest project car, the 2007 MINI Cooper S. We're going to use the same Rota 16x6.5-inch wheels for our race tires that we had on our 2005 Cooper. That meant about an hour's worth of scraping of our red polka dots. Polka dots are soooo 2006.
Next, we're going to figure out the tire situation. We're thinking about running the 2007 season on Hoosier A6s, as they're very good at putting down the power, better than the Kumho V710s...and our Cooper S is quite a bit more powerful than our Cooper was.
MINI Built…Waiting for Transport! Jan 8, 2007
We logged onto the MINI USA owner's lounge and discovered that our new MINI is now built and awaiting transport!
Hopefully, we'll have the car and can get a few miles on it before the February 24-25 National Tour in Cecil, GA.
