1972 124 Spider Race Car updates:

So the addition of the FIAT to my stable was not one of chance. My wife and I had long discussed me getting into Vintage racing and with good solid knowlegde from other FIAT vintage racers in VARAC I found this little number.
The plan is to upgrade her to race spec which is not much more work due to the prev owners efforts to make the car into a full track vehicle.
Fuel cell, fire system, roll cage and what not will have more ready to rock.
So why a FIAT? Why would a Triumph guy buy a FIAT?
Price, parts, specs and avaiblity. I could not find anything decent for what I paid for the 124. Which came with lots of spares and my info tells me I can still get parts pretty easy. No worst then a Spitfire. Specs wise; 1.8 twin cam, 5 speed and 4 disc brakes… She is a bigger car compared to the GT6, but I also fit better into her. And last she was pretty close to home. (1600 odd KM trip. If you call that close.)
