1979 $2000 Challenge Fairmonster

-1

Thirty eight years ago the Ford Motor Company released upon the world a revolutionary chassis design that would remain in production until 2005. This amazing chassis was responsible for spawning the rebirth of the muscle car era! It also spawned a lot of terrible pedestrian sedans that were much more comfortable in the wrecking yard than on the highway. Luckily most were made of crappy metal or were given to drivers of questionable skills and the scrapper is where they were lucky enough to land. The Fairmonster, however, was not destined to be a scrapped crap can. No it was destined to be a challenged weapon of math deduction. This glorious 1979 Ford Fairmont Squire was purchased from likely the thirtieth owner for the sum of $400.00. A GM LM7 5.3L LS engine is currently being installed on an Asphalt Jungle tubular crossmember with a V8 steering rack, 1 5/8” long tube headers and 3” exhaust dumping before the rear axle make the noise while a 4L60E transmission from a mid 90s truck and a S Blazer torque converter will make the shift happen under the car.
