1962 Chevrolet Chevy II (Nova)
Added on July 13 by speedboat

Running my daily driver on Willow Springs track in CA. I bought this thing already pretty much built, with crate ZZ4, 700r4 automatic, Heidt’s Mustang II front clip, and the Heidt’s IRS. Non-powered rack& pinion. Drove it to SoCal from Colorado. But it took a lot to get it all to work. Frame stiffeners helped a lot. Front sway bar. Bigger springs in back. Align engine and drive shaft. Headers and Flowmasters. American Racing wheels and Nitto 555 tires. Pretty sporty for a 3100 pound doorslammer. The car is faster than I am. The independent rear suspension makes it pretty unique for a hotrod. This is nothing like your BMW. Stiff, loud, rude, brute. No electronics except for the MSD ignition box. Summer of 2008 I drove from LA to Oregon and back on every winding road I could find, with not one problem.

Awesome! I love seeing cars out of their traditional “comfort zones”.

My first car was a 62 Nova, with factory buckets no less. Nice seeing one made to handle!
