Our current wagon is a 2002 BMW 325i touring. We ordered only the minimum necessary options to keep it simple and fun: sport package (the sport seats are crucial), manual transmission, and sunroof. That's it. Fun car, handles just like its sedan cousins, and pretty much everything we need fits inside.

iPod integration

Another summer project that I've completely forgotten to mention: iPod integration. Pre 9/2002 build BMWs do not have any built-in aux input for iPods and other MP3 players. So our options were limited to upgrading the head unit or installing ...

Rear wiper blade update

The PIAA 12" super silicone blade (part 95030) arrived a day early (thanks Amazon Prime!). The mounting hinge is slightly wider than than OEM blade, but it does fit on the BMW wiper arm. Orientation is important. If the blade ...

Wiper blades

I must be an old fart: back in the day, replacing the wiper blades meant just the insert. These days, apparently, it means the whole blade assembly. They'll sell you the inserts -- and they're inexpensive enough to be tempting ...

Next up: Brakes

Turner Motorsports was having a sale, and my brake rotors are looking a bit worn, so picked up a set of slotted TMS rotors and Axxis street pads. Stock diameter. These will go on over the winter.

Suspension completed

This is somewhat old news, but I wanted to update: finally got the entire suspension back together. I ran out of time and patience and had a local shop complete the control arms. I just couldn't get the last bolt ...

Suspension upgrades

The front control arm bearings, a weak spot in the e46, are getting pretty worn on the wagon. So what does that mean? Full suspension upgrade, of course. We're currently in the process of installing: - OEM FCABs - ZHP ...

Time for a new battery

That's right: 8 years on the original battery. Jump from AAA. Drive down to AutoZone. Problem solved.

Love the wagon! I have an '02 Touring as well (manual, sport, premium packages) and love it! The only downside is a lack of a 6th gear. :( Great looking car. :thumbs up:
