2000 Trans Am updates:
Some minor engine work.... Mar 30, 2010
I was going to change valve stem seals in the car but when I put compressed air in one of the cylinders to hold the valve up I could hear the air getting past the piston rings. It wasn’t terrible but I’ve been looking for an excuse to tear into the engine. I ended up picking up some SCAT forged H-beam rods, forged Mahle pistons, Revxtreme catch can and a new LS2 timing chain. The last one stretched considerably in 2 years. I also spent part of today doing a valve job on the heads while they’re out.
