Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
Added on May 26 by sanyarcosean

Aaron DeVine’s 1964 Karmann Ghia Rat Project.

Aarons car was stored in a barn since 1979. The previous owner gave it a spray can gold paint job, and painted the body colored interior metal black. Aaron spent months stripping that paint off of the car to bring it back to its factory paint. The car is now about 80% factory paint with some color matched touchup paint to blend in the rough spots. It is powered by a 1200 CC motor w/ a Judson Supercharger. The car has a “Vintage speed” theme and has many old school parts including a period correct hurst shifter. Aaron has done most of the work himself, including installing and trouble shooting the Judson.
BTW… Aaron is 15!

You should be proud. I looks like the car and the driver have come a long way since you first posted it.

Excellent, I had a 1974 VW Thing as My First car and I loved it and ironically so did the ladies, as long as it was warm outside and the top was down. Best of luck, and keep up the hard work.

This stands out as one of the cooler builds on this board, hands down. Toss in the father/son aspect and it really takes off. Keep up the good work, guys.
