It took too long, but the car’s competition debut was at Carolina Motorsports Park in February 2011. (I did several HPDE days with NASA in 2010)
Turn 1 restart after a full course caution saw a BMW tag me from behind, spin me, then T-bone us both off into the kitty litter. So much for that sweet looking new wrap on the car!
The 2011 season has been a development one for sure, but with 3 weekends under our belt, the car ran it’s best at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Roval: running as high as 3rd before a 3 way battle on the last lap ended with a 4th place finish. Not bad for a garage build!
