MG "Spridget"

This is my ex-rubber bumper 1500 Spridget vintage racer. My first race car was a 1275 Sprite that I ran at Bridgehampton in the early 70s. Along the way, I’ve had a bunch of Midgets, Sprites and Bugeyes I’ve been racing this particular Spridget for six years and have run it in 50+ wheel-to-wheel races (including several 3 and 4 Hour enduros). I’ve run the car in the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix at BeaveRun (twice) and the Hershey Vintage Hillclimb. The engine is almost entirely stock and probably pushes 70 HP on a really good day. It has stock, skinny steel wheels, an open diff, stock trans, etc. The low power saves on tires, clutches and many other stressed components. It’s truly a “momentum car”. The car has already run the 2008 New Hampshire Vintage and the ‘08 PVGP. It will also run the 2008 Thunderbolt Historics (at NJMP), the 2008 VRG Watkins Glen Vintage plus other stuff. The car’s not terribly fast in terms of top speed or acceleration but it is very “tossable” and really great fun to drive. I also have a “modern” Escort GT for NASA sprint and endurance racing.
