1994 Mazda Protege LX
Added on Jan. 24 by Carson

After months of searching for a BG Protege and deciding I’d take any BG model as long as it wasn’t automatic or that horrible Tropic Emerald green, I found a screaming deal on a ‘94…automatic…in Tropic Emerald.

I bought it with a bad transmission (planning to swap out to a manual anyway). Still made the 30 mile drive home! Very clean otherwise. This will be a rallycrosser and daily driver.

You talk about wanting a Sonett. I talk about missing my Protege. Hrmmmm. If only my Sonett weren't so rusty. Its nice to see someone taking care of another BG. I'll have another someday.

So, did you have to drill new holes for the Miata seat brackets or did the brackets bolt right on where the old ones were!

Carson:
4Msfam, basically, I used some thin steel flat stock and bolted that to the Protege rails and then bolted the seat to the flat stock. If I remember correctly, there is about a 3” difference between the factory Protege rails to the Miata seats. It isn't quite as straightforward as it sounds but that's the gist. I'll see if I can get some pictures up.

The window vents are awesome! If they prove to function well, post up some more details please!
