Airflow refers to the bumpers, lower body cladding, and fender arches that were dealer-installed on some 900S' in the US in the '80s. Most of them also came with Saab Super-Inca wheels. It was touted to be one of the most aerodynamic cars of its day, and when measuring solely CD and wind-resistance, it is better than many of todays sports and super cars. I have numbers, if anyone is interested. Yes, I'm a nerd. Ha.

Sharp car! There is one of these in Sutton, WV that is like a Dark Charcoal Grey Metalliac with the 3 spoke monoblock wheels. Is that a Turbo?

That sounds like a 900 SPG to me. Yes, I think all SPGs are turbo'd and the grey is called Eduardian Grey if I recall.
Awesome car, btw miatarpowar!

This one is an S, so no Turbo! in the US. It was my fuel-miser DD for about a year. Averaged 30+mpg on my commute with the 2.0 N/A and 5-spd manual.

A funny thing about the Airflow kit on turbocharged cars: the install instructions note that horsepower drops a bit (5hp, IIRC), presumably because there's a drop in air flow to the IC.
To answer the question re: SPGs and turbos: yes, all SPGs were turbocharged (and all came with the 3-spoke rims). Initially, SPGs made no more power than standard Turbos, but later cars got a boost in power (all via more boost); the last iteration ('90-'91) made the most power, but the non-SPG Commemorative Editions made in '93 at the end of the run are the most powerful of all @ 185hp, 2xx ft-lb.
