2003 Toyota Tacoma S-Runner

This is my new S-Runner. The SR is Toyota’s ‘sport truck’ model for this generation of Tacomas. From the Factory: 3.4L V6; 5-speed; 190hp/220lbft.; lowered 1” over stock by way of shorter tires; stiffened springs; larger swaybars; Tockico Blues. I got this one w/ 47k miles on it and its in terrific shape save for a few dings. I got it for a daily driver and to tow around my GLH and motorcycles. I’m betting it will also hit the autocross and dragstrip a few times. Its pretty cool as-is, but i can’t leave anything alone. Plans include blacked out 17” wheels from a Chrysler 300 (cuz i have them and they should fit); mild 2-3” lowering; Koni adjustables (apparently 1st Gen Camaro shocks fit when the truck’s lowered); exhaust; and 75hp shot of nitrous for kicks….

No progress on mine, as of yet. I have the parts for a 3" lowering job in the garage, though. Just need a warm weekend... Here's some inspirational S-Runners for anyone interested: 1st - Cheap, DIY, Remote-mount turbo system: http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97254 2nd - Very fast S-Runner. TRD Supercharger @ 10psi + 125 shot of NO2 = 11.7@114mph in the quarter http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124663

Took the Taco out for some autocrossin' fun this weekend. It was an exercise in futility. Without an LSD, this thing is useless in the tight stuff. I dont think i had both tires putting down power throughout the entire course. Also, this truck comes from the factory w/ some pretty hefty swaybars, but looking at the pix, i'm not sure they are hefty enough. Anyway, had alot of fun, which is all i'm out there to do anyway. Here's some pix.
