My 1936 Gloria Southern Cross (“SX”) has both elegance and grunt. It was built the last year that the car, motorcycles (and bicycles!) were all under the same company. It was originally built with the 1200cc Climax ioe engine, but was later uprated with a 1.8 litre ohv “14/60”, just as fitted by the factory to a handful of special order customers. It is one of three Gloria SX in the USA at the moment. Some postwar TRs are still smarting from the autocross results at Dallas VTR in 2006.
