1982 Mazda Hill Climb Special

Ride Rating

The car is called the "BANDIT". It was a one off built by Jerry Kieif, specifically to run the Hills. Rotary powered with a 13b bridgeport. The car holds many records up and down the East Coast. The large wings generate a tremendous amount of down force. At 100mph. they generate 1200lbs, and at 130mph they generate around 2000lbs of down force. Running on Atlantic tires. Purchased the car in November of 2010 and have been working on it to get ready for the 2011 Hill Climb (PHA) season.

I have changed many items on the car. New paint scheme, new numbers and stripes, new gauges, etc. The pictures with number 88 were before and the pictures with the black stripes are the new look. New number is 116.

Ran the Bandit for the first time. What a ride! Ran the Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point. First in class, and a new S-2 record breaking the old mark by almost 4 seconds. The car is very predictable and the down force unbelievable. Can't wait to see how it performs on a hill.

Just wanted to thank all of you for the large number of votes! The Bandit is really one sweet machine to drive. Hopefully if all goes well we can add a fourth straight championship post in the fall. Again thanks much!!!!

The Bandit? It's red and black with triplane wings, you should call it the Red Baron :D

GameboyRMH: I love that idea. Kinda does look like the "RED BARON'S" Plane. LOL
