1969 Jaguar XKE Series 2 2+2

Four speed, A/C, rare factory chromed steel wheels. Unrestored except for paint. The 2+2 is the “affordable” E-type. Since it is often maligned by E-type purists and is less sought after than its OTS and FHC sisters, it can therefore be had for a third to half the price that the other models fetch. I think the Series 2, with the more raked windscreen, has a more “balanced” form than the coupe, but then I am highly biased!. Certainly from the cockpit it offers the same experience as any other E-type, especially with the four speed. The dual Strombergs are often criticized for lessening the performance of these cars; but this is really only true at speeds in excess of 100mph. Jaguar put a lower ratio in the rear end, which gives the Series 2 the same 0-60 times as the earlier cars, but limits the top speed. This can be easily fixed by using the earlier 3 SU HD-8 setup and distributor.
