Powder Coated Valve Cover May 11, 2010
I had some free time the other day and decided to try out my hand at some powder coating colors. I did a candy blue coating on the valve cover. Base is a chrome powder coat, with a translucent Hawaiian blue top coating. I then used a medium hand file and shaved the raised parts flat till they were all bare aluminum. The parallel ribs I shaved at an angle, and Toyota longitudinally. Came out pretty good, despite the poor casting quality of these valve covers. I guess the two coats of powder covers up a lot of the casting imperfections.
