Restoring Alternator Oct 26, 2010
Pretty much the only thing in the engine bay that hasn’t been completely restored and cleaned up is the alternator, so I finally got around to taking care of that task. I completely disassembled it and was planning on replacing the bearings and the brushes but they both looked and felt great, and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Used some paints that I had sitting around and did all the cleaning with about 50 cents worth of gasoline. So on budget and in a few hours it was transformed to better than new.
