BMW M5
Added on Sept. 12 by M427

1991 M5 with LS7 crate engine, Motec ECU, AIM Dash, Ground Control Suspension, Custom Rally Style Cage, Custom Designed Brake Kit using Wilwood calipers. This car is purpose built for the Silverstate Classic Challenge to run the Unlimited Class.

The car just successfully completed its first run in the Silverstate classic challenge on September 21(the car had run been run in the sscc twice before in stock trim). The car was run in the super sport division with a tech speed of 180 mph and a target speed of 170 mph average for the 90 mile run down Nevada state hwy 318. We were top speed limited by my tire selection otherwise the car would have been in the unlimited class. 180 mph required only 40% throttle in 6th gear (a .5 overdrive). Next year we will see what mph it will do (2??).

3400lbs The car is a little heavy but it has a very very over built cage. The open road racing presents a different set of safety issues than normal track use.
