1984 300ZX updates:
VH45DE swap Jul 29, 2010
So at this point, the VH45 swap is moving along.I replaced the timing set in the new engine, and cleaned up and painted it’s various pieces, and painted the engine bay.I’ve made a hybrid crossmember out of the stock Z31 and one out of a Q45.So the engine is bolted in, and the transmission from a Z32 twin turbo that I also rebuilt, is going in tomorrow with an Exedy stage 2 clutch bolted to a Z32 TT flywheel, and using a Mazworx machined bellhousing and adapter.It’s not that tight of a fit, except for the height of the engine.I’m gonna have to make a cowl induction hood out of a second gen Z31 hood, since I’m doing the whole 87-88 front end swap.Otherwise, I’ve changed to Tokico Illumina struts, MSA 25mm swaybars, poly bushings, and did the newer brake conversion utilizing 88 front hubs, and Z32 TT calipers.More to come!
