So, I finally got the car sitting level. The rear springs were saggy. I traded a guy straight up for a full set of ‘87 Shelby Z springs. The Shelby Z springs are a little stiffer but, most importantly, not saggy. No more droopy drawers for this Aries! The other guy didn’t care if the springs I gave him were saggy or not (but he knew ahead of time that they were) because he just wanted to have a car to drive around and beat the crap out of.
For 2009 Challenge purposes, the fair market value for each of these sets of springs is about $20 since they are both stock spring sets…so it’s a wash in the calculation of the total cost of my car ;).
Next update should include exhaust, tires, and installation of the intercooler…
