1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
Added on Jan. 23 by racinggeek23
I started autocrossing in my Dad’s 4-door Dodge Dakota Sport truck, and despite the lack of performance I got hooked. A couple months after getting my license, I bought my 1987 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z. The car was really clean inside and out with only a dent in the fender and surface rust below to worry about. After one event, it became obvious how worn out the suspension components were. So… here is the list of mods that I have done in an attempt to bring the car back to its former glory.
Current Parts: UMI Adjustable LCA, LCA relocation brackets, PHB Koni SA’s front and rear Eibach Pro-Kit springs front and rear J&M strut mounts Edelbrock strut tower brace 36mm front/21mm rear (to much oversteer with the 21mm so I’ll be dropping to the 19mm) 9-bolt 3.27 posi rear with disk brakes Corbeau Forza seats (I picked up the seats, mounts, sliders and hardware for $140!)
Waiting Parts: worked over 350ci SBC Trans-Go shift kit for the 700r4 3.42 gears and a Torsen posi larger front&rear brake setup oil/tranny/power steering coolers panhard bar relocation brackets weight jacks Spohn subframe connectors a few other odds and ends
I’m also happy to say that everything was bought and paid for by me, including the cost of the car. My dad was the only person to help out so far and that was as an extra pair of hands. Thanks for helping dad!
Some pictures are old, but at least I finally have some pictures on here. lol
Thanks for looking, Mike
