1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 4.5
Added on March 29 by TWHansen

Purchased for the princely sum of $400 with the BA/BE Rally in mind. As nice as the photo looks, make no mistake. This is a very rusty car. Still, once I get the last few issues with the sticking throttle and the leaking water pump & power steering pump wrapped up, it ought to make for a nice old sled to bomb around in for a while…

Nice ride. My dad had one when we lived in Germany in the early 80's. I took my girlfriend to prom in it. His was a 280S with the 6 cylinder. Car's drove so well…very advanced.

I had a winter beater one for 5 years - still have the eng / trans for a 450SLC Ralley clone project. I stuck a 240D badge on the back and went looking for the unsuspecting……… These cars wil top 120; but be aware of the rear coming around when backing off suddenly in a corner; or enjoy backing off suddenly in a corner!
