I‘ve had a shaky wheel or two for a long time. A few times, people had flagged me down while driving to tell me that one of them was visibly wobbling but, after checking the lug nuts, attributed the visible wobble to poor balance combined with old-ass rubber suspension bushings. I finally dropped my car off to get its wheels balanced last week. I had the following conversation on the phone later that day.
“Hello?” “Hi, I’m [name] from [local shop], calling about your car.” “Hey, how are ya?” “A lot better than you are.”
The discussion that followed included the words, “bent all to hell.”
So I’m on the market for a set of wheels. And tires, because those are shot too. I may borrow the OEM all-seasons on steelies from Tom’s Deuce now that he has sticky tires on sweet rims.
