Man with the Van Apr 20, 2009

Attention, Beige Alert!

Kim and I have officially entered parenthood. Sure, Stig is eight months old, but buying a Minivan means we’re serious about this whole thing. We picked up a Honda Odyssey at a good price at the dealership up in St. Augustine. Thanks to the global financial hissyfit, the price was quite reasonable.

I’ve ordered the factory tow package with transmission and power steering coolers.

From PAX in the MINI to packing the minivan...it's painful even when I'm just reading about it from a distance!

ahhh the comfort you will now enjoy, and all the toys that can be hauled inside.

Isn't it funny, how large a vehicle we need for just one small child.... and all their "stuff"? My wife and I started our minivan trend 9 years ago, we're on our 2nd van. Our first van was the Dodge Grand Van. Had all the amenities, but very poor construction. Our second is an MPV. It's a little smaller, no real towing capacity(forgot about that aspect), but it's easy to park and drives/handles pretty well. Little Stig looks like he approves.

My old E150 rocks, it does all our towing, trips and our 6'3" kid loves that he has legroom and room for his buddies, see it at the Mitty or at the last 24 hour, the old girl tows like a champ. (351 is no diesel but it does the job)
