Scott Lear Contact

I am the Club Editor here at Grassroots and Classic Motorsports magazines. Like my fellow GRMers, I wear many hats. Primarily I write stories and manage the Events section of the magazines. My current stable includes our Project MINI Cooper S, and my own Acura Integra Type R and Lexus IS 300. I recently wrapped up the Spec E30 project.

I've been autocrossing since 1999 and club racing since the start of 2006, and since I joined the magazine I've competed a few hill climbs, too. I've taken second place in Spec Focus at the NASA Championships (in 2006 and 2008), and I nabbed eighth place in Spec E30 at the 2008 Championships, too.

When I'm not playing with cars, I like going on adventures with my delightful fiancee Ashley. I'm also a nut about video games (Nintendo is the true way), skiing, riding bikes, checking out far-away objects with my telescope, iRacing and watching movies. To steal a phrase from my good buddy Kyle, I enjoy anything that runs on electricity and has buttons on it. (Ashley rightly deduced that I spent more time shopping for a subwoofer than I did for Ashley's engagement ring. If the ring were electronic in some way, it would have required deeper consideration.)

Chipotle burritos are the best food. Stargate SG-1 is (was) the best TV. PCs you build on your own are the best computers. Cargo pants are the most useful pants. Legos and Transformers are the most entertaining toys.
