More Nurburgring 24 content May 22, 2010

From the Desk of: JG Pasterjak

After we left the track and headed for the KW factory in Fichtenberg, Germany, our internet connections were not really suitable for uploading large videos, so I apologize for the delay in content. Hopefully it was worth the wait, as I finished a couple of vids up on the plane ride home, and now that I’m back in my comfy home office with screaming fast internet, the uploading has commenced.

By the end of the weekend, I’ll also get some of my thoughts in pixel form about the race itself. Seriously, you can’t begin to imagine the spectacle of this event. It’s like the Rolex 24 at Daytona, multiplied by the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, with a healthy dash of Burning Man. Look for more musings this weekend.

And here’s a rundown on what’s posted so far:

Photo gallery including photos from the 24 hour race, and the KW Suspension factory in Fichtenberg (with new content as of this morning).

Photo gallery from the Historic race at the Nurburgring

First highlight video:

NEW! Second highlight video. Just posted this morning in HD (doubleclick the video to go you YouTube to watch in HD). Footage from the race and pitlane (and some sweet oldschool German industrial music).

Don't the techs on the LF-A know you don't double click a torque wrench? And did anyone else think the warning buzzer sounded a little like Ghidorah?

That pit entry warning buzzer got funnier and funnier the more tired we got. By the end of the weekend it sounded like an angry opera singer. And I figure any wrench that it takes two guys to use can maybe be clicked an extra time with little harm. Honestly, that car seems to still have some real teething problems. It's a showcase of crafstmanship, but apparently there's still lots of bugs.
