jack stands

Suggested by snibborddot

At the track or for the backyard mechanic . Because not everyone has access to a garage all of the time . A good safety tip for using jackstands on dirt or grass or ,,, is using a piece of plywood or old counter top cut into an 18”x18” square . Or something close to that size . Plus they make a nice “little” place to keep small tools or lug nuts or whatever when you wallowing in the dirt under the car .

I like to use automatic transmission flexplates. The starter ring gear keeps the stand on the flywheel and the surface area keeps it from sinking. Wood cracks for me.

Reminder: If your going to Heartland Park KS for the first time, take some planks / boards with you. All jack and stands MUST be on wood to prevent sinking into the asphalt. They will sell you a small board for a buck or 2 !
