No oil pressure!!
Suggested by cwhRecently got a 96 ranger with the 3.0 Vulcan motor. Had to replace the fuel pump and drain the old, bad gas to get it running. Then, 5 miles into the drive home, no oil pressure. Truck had sat for 2+ years, and was not well cared for before that. I let it sit for a few minutes, started it, and had full pressure. Continued the drive home, same thing. Let it sit again, had pressure. Some said pressure sending unit, but I thought oil feed in crankcase. Suggesion was to pull the oil filter and blow compressed air in the oil feed. I did that, drasined the oil and put 2 quarts of diesel in, turned the engine over with the oil filter out and amazing gunk came gushing out. Drained the diesel out, replaced with fresh ouil, new filter, problem all gone. Have not had a flicker on the guage since. Yay GRM!!
