Seized brake lines

Suggested by markfhp

The featured tip of the day said to use a flare wrench. Yeah, right! Mine was so frozen the flare wrench broke. A guy on a Mustang forum said to soak it in Blaster and then use a small plumber’s pipe wrench. The pipe wrench tightens as your turn it. I cringed at the thought, but tried it. Worked like a dream and didn’t even damage the fitting.

I have had these “locking wrenches” get me out of a tight spot with brake fittings. http://www.irwin.com/irwin/consumer/jhtml/detai… I also prefer to hit the fittings with a little heat from propane to help the pb or whatever migrate a little more. A final tip, if you know your going to replace the line, don't touch the fitting with a wrench. Cut the stupid line close to the fitting and use a 8 point socket.
