Hardware Store Turnbuckles

Suggested by dinger

When you are fabbing something and you need to adjust two pieces relative to each other prior to welding, pick yourself up some cheap turnbuckles from the hardware store that are usually used on screen doors to square them. A tack weld on the end of each loop attaches the turnbuckle to the parts, and now you can adjust things in very small increments with just a 9/16 wrench! If you need a longer adjuster, just replace the right hand thread eyelet with a long piece of allthread. Then break out the tape measure!

I use turnbuckles for the adjustable part of my clutch linkage on my 1974 F-100. They are much easier to find and they don'ttend to fall out when I break a motormount.
