Even at $500, GRAY primer reeks of a bondo bucket. Just that door has a bad wave in it from that picture, plus the panel gaps. Then the missing headlight trim and bumper.

Maybe true . . . but this roller "looks" better than most of the other crap rollers in the this area and most importantly . . . 1/3 the price.

I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, but what color should the primer be?

It shouldn't be showing, unless it is a spot repair. 
If it isn't yellow or still a EDP coated panel, I would find everything suspect. I would rather see a harlequin horse then a solid one color primer, unless it's a tinted primer sealer.
