Confirmation on budget

I'm 95% sure of something but want to confirm before potentially making a deal. 

If I have a vehicle that I get for a 4 pack of beer (value $20) and I put $180 worth of parts into said vehicle. Then trade said vehicle plus $1000 towards another vehicle, can I enter the new vehicle with budget of $1200

I'm going to need you to clarify on the 4 pack of beer.  Is it 4 hoity toity beers or 4x30 Keystone Lights?   This is important because in Michigan can's have a value of $0.10.  So you either take -$.40 or -$12.00 depending on the can count.
