I need to get a set of good tires and wheels for my newest purchase before the car gets inspected because the old ones are shot. What I need is a set of good tires on 4x100 wheels in 13",14" or 15" diameter somewhere near south eastern pennsylvania. Not looking to spend a fortune, maybe $225. Let me know what you have :nice:

First I must say, "Yes, you should have good tires on your car."
Second, there may be a work around.
If I am reading this correct, the current tires that you have have so little tread that they will not pass vehicle inspection.
You would like to spend up to $225 to get the car legal. This will potentially only get you some marginal (but legal) tires. I suspect that you want to save for some good tires.
Here is a possible work around. You need to borrow some tires/rims for a day in order to get your car inspected. With that in mind, here are some cars with rims that will fit onto a '91 Miata. Do you know anyone who owns the following:
Another Miata, all years through 2006
All sizes of Mazda MX-3
Some Mazda Proteges and Ford Escorts
2000-2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder
The above is for factory rims, if you have friends with aftermarket rims you choices may increase dramatically.
I know there may be more models that fit.
also earlier hondas and VW's.
Hello,
