Wow, interesting wagon. I'm tempted to call except for 3 things: 1.) the old/unwritten rule used to be "steer clear of any car made in 1973". The smog laws changed for that year, and nearly every car maker had problems with driveability and or fuel economy. 2.) these cars had almost zero steering feel when new (a dimmer switch on the wall has more feel to it than a 60s-70s Mopar steering wheel. And 3.) when the ad says it runs, do you suppose the seller means it WILL run as long as I squirt starter fluid / or pour gas down the carb?

Still, even being medium green on medium green, and looking somewhat rust-free.....somewhat tempting.

My brother used a blue one like that to haul his Formula Vee back and forth. Air shocks out back were a big help.

Firm Feel can fix the beyond numb Mopar steering box. They can also supply Bilstiens and a set of stiffer torsion bars if your in the mood

Steer clear from any car in 73? I've had several most of the smog stuff can be blocked off and welded up for FREE. Don't let that keep you away from a good car.

Maybe in '76 that was a rule of thumb to go by, but it doesn't hold water 40 years down the road. We have a '73 Challenger and a '73 Road Runner in the fleet. I could jump into either one tomorrow and drive them to work. Or anywhere else.

Go buy that wagon and remove any temptation for me.

That first Polara has been screaming at me for the last year "Stop berkeleying around and buy me, you Bob Costas!" I actually randomly stumbled across the damned thing twice: Once on the way to a wedding at Chateu Elan, and again on the way to road atlanta. Both times taking these weird random back roads. Dude has a bunch of Mopars. The wagon was in the yard with signs the first time I went by, but I was running late, and on stands in the driveway the second time I drove by, otherwise I would've stopped and taken a look.

I do not understand why people steer clear of some of the 70's cars other than not liking how they look. Unless you live in Cali, just pull the smog stuff off and do a cam, intake, carb and exhaust. If the motor sucks, swap something else better in! Times have changed.

I hear that "70's cars are terrible " BS all the time with my Trans Am from all the old fogies saying "Those cars are DOGS. They are slow pieces of crap". Their 1967 Chevelle SS is likely slower in every way than a new Camry.

I like this wagon.

If it helps curb the temptation, it's not going to be a straight bolt-on. The leading edge of the door is curved on the wagon/4-door. The 2-door is straighter:
