Seller has relisted and dropped the price. Someone grab this thing before I spend my tax return $$$ on it.

I would probably have already sent an email if it were closer to me... but I might be murdered if I brought that home right now.
Although I'll be in Winona Lake (halfway between home and Indy) in a couple weeks... Hmm.

Give him a call and find out.... number listed in CL posting. If Toyman can drive that 1950's bus over a thousand miles, I'm sure you can find a way to get it going for a "three hour tour".
If it could make a three hour drive then it could make the 4 hour drive to my home...
Someone else buy it please and save me from the irresponsible ideas brewing in my head.

I got off the phone with Ray, the seller. This is his report (paraphrased) report:
Mechanically the truck is good, No problems making a three hour drive. front end is "tight" (his word exactly) It will need cab corners doors need seals freshened up cracked dash pad seats a bit ripped up.
I live far side of Indianapolis and the truck is located in Bedford, IN. Unfortunately that's 2 hours away. If you're REAL serious, lets see if someone else is closer, or maybe I could get there next weekend.
that looks wonderful. i already have my shortbed regular cab tooling around down truck, so i don't need it. not that steve does either, but that's never stopped him before.
I'm 4.5 hrs away so I'm not any more help. I DID NOT need to see this though. My favorite year of F-150 that costs less then my pending tax return check is incredibly tempting! My Dad had a black on black 79 4x4 long bed when I was growing up and that's the pinnacle of F-150s outside of a 50-56 F-100 in my book.
My friend's father bought a new one in 1979. It was a 2wd short bed stepside in metallic brown. I loved that truck. I agree that it's one of Ford's best generations, after the '41 and the '53-'56.
That truck has the less attractive 1980+ rear fenders on it, but it still looks cool and it's an easy fix, if you care.
