I'm looking for a go cart for my kids. I'd prefer a two-place cart, but not stuck on that. It doesn't have to be perfect, but I don't have time for a big project. I've been cruising CL for 6 weeks, but it appears most people that have things listed for sale don't want to actually SELL it.
I have an original Honda Odyssey 250CC - very safe, very fun. It runs but for it to be reliable and easy to start it needs a new piston and rings. I'll sell it for what I paid for it which is $1500.
I've always loved those. But I"m looking for something slower. My oldest kid is 10, youngest is 6. Now for me on the other hand 
I started my kids out at 6 with a Carter Brothers Thunderkart. It had a 6hp engine and was a pretty good fit for their size and age. Pretty well made machine also, save for the Tecumseh engine.

I was going to point out that he asked for something slower, but then I remembered putting a throttle stop on my kid's first kart until they got used to it, and then I gradually made it faster as they could handle it. It makes sense, so you don't end up buying and selling karts their entire childhood.
Hello, I have a Birel clone kart. It had a lot of work done in the off season including a rebuild with the updated valve spring allowances and cam. I literally only ran it 5 minutes since then, just pulling it in to my garage, where it has sat for like 14 months since I work every Saturday and can't get to the track...
I paid $1200 and would let it go for the same.. located in the Pittsburgh area

I'm half tempted to sell mine (shown in readers rides). It does need a new engine though.
I would think about selling mine, but I'm too much of a kid still. On another note, I'm looking for the biggest affordable engine for it.
