DriveAutoX is hosting their next event -- Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL near St. Louis. August 18-19. The first two events have been great successes with friendly competition and a wide variety of street legal cars. DriveAutoX is a new series with Optima Batteries as title sponsor. The goal is to provide all-weekend racing, plus an exciting shootout on Sunday for top finishers. Saturday night, one of the sponsors, RideTech picks up the tab for a parking lot feast which is usually followed by loitering into the wee hours.

-You get a lot of runs -- A lot!
-No cone shagging ever. Cones are set by local Formula SAE students.
-Classes for vintage cars (old Mustangs and Camaro), sports cars (Miatas, Civics), Corvettes, late model muscle, plus the No Limit Engineering Outlaw Class.
-Parking Lot Feast – Saturday night at the hotel. Good times…
-Sunday Shootout: Pursuit-style Eliminations: Two car launch simultaneously with an arm drop start. Cars leave the start/finish line in opposite directions. They complete one-half of the course, pass each other back at the start/finish line, complete the other half of the course and then cross the finish line. The first car to cross the finish line wins the elimination round. Eliminations are heads up – first to the finish. Hit a cone and you are out. The Pursuit Shootout is fun for participants and spectators alike. Watch the video below.
