Worked on it a few minutes today.  Was raining this morning and then I helped a buddy on his truck then mowed my fields.

Lifted it up so I could slide the struts under. The stockers might just work.

And random pics of my mower

Also open to ideas on the drivers side trans mount. I don't think I'm going have room to run a huge stock mount.

I'm going try and work on it tomorrow and see if I can make the stock work or not.

my buddy bought a mule and it came with the mower. He had no use for it and gave it to me. Sure bets the old mdt mower I've been using for my 5 acres.

Re the 128i struts. I have a pair out of my 2011 128i. Less then 50k on them. Worked fine, just went to Koni’s.  Yours for shipping costs from 98105. While strut with spring and mounts. Let me know if you want pics. Text @ two zero 6; four three 7, one zero 22. Marc. Love the build!

Well got distracted this weekend with yard work.

When you have already loaded the trailer six times and am just over it.

Perhaps got a bit carried away with the brush pile. Its prob 12ft tall and 20ft long.

Grabbed more gravel after work today. This was 2.3 tons, I've put down about 8 tons now.

Now onto the Anglia.  Tossed the factory mount on. Don't like it, tried turning it, didnt get any better.

Id like to find something else that takes a 14mm bolt.

Looks like a 350z trans mount uses a 14mm bolt. Going  order one up

Sometimes you just need to take a break and see some progress. Two  tek screws and couple zip ties.

Drivers mount on.  Still have to weld on caps and weld it to the rail.

Decided to rearrange.  Graded out the drive, should have done this in the beginning, much more level this way.

And ride height is about stock

Maybe some 195/40/16 might look a little closer to the tire size of the original overall diameter. Tires look way to tall for the size of the car. Other than that it's looking pretty ship shape.

In reply to brad131a4 :

Yeah I agree,  but they are basically new tires so that sucks.  The guy next door at work thinks he has some front runners laying around. He said I could have them if he can find them.  Front runner with a 185 might look right but worried about traction with that.

Started pulling the interior out of the Mazda.

Not looking forward to pulling the dash, looks like you have to pull the doors to do it.

Love the  build so far, only negative thing I have to say for what it’s worth(nothing as it’s your build) is those stock Mazda wheels look way to big in diameter for the car.

I know, I never thought a 16in would look so big. Depending on the wheel some 15s can fit over the brakes. I'm going try some and see. I'm thinking a 15x5 with a 205 on it would look better

Trying to decide if I want to try 205/40/16s or if I need to step down to 15s.

205/40s would drop about 3inchs in diameter over the current tires.

What say the masses? Also remember 15s aren't supposed to fit and it looks like it really depends on the wheel if it will clear the caliper or not. The trailer wheel just barely clears the brakes.

Pops came down to visit. So I put him to work on the Mazda while I'm at work.

It’s hard to say until you mount them how the 16’s would look with low profile tires compared to 15’s with a decent side wall. Maybe a trip to a local u pull it that has a Mazda 3 you could check wheel clearance on some 15’s would help you along.

Yeah problem is the closet pull a part is over an hour away one way. So I don't head that way often. I got a couple 15s kicking around I will try on and see. I know the trailer wheel fits but haven't tried the others yet.

Any updates? I hear you on the u pull it yards. As a teen and into my early 20’s I use to hit up the local yards pretty much every weekend. After the cash for clunkers thing and increasing EPA/suburban sprawl most folded. Closest to me is a hour and the prices and selection generally aren’t worth it.

Nope, Mazda 3 is about stripped. Only have the tank and lines to pull.

Pops came down to visit. So we have been working on my shed and yard work and worked on the rebel today.  I'll start working on it again probably next week.

Spent a little time on it tonight. Finally pulled the gas tank and lines. All that is left to pull is the rear abs sensor wiring and the harness will be completely pulled. Then just have to pull the fuel filler hoses and the IRS and she's stripped down.

Rains been halting my progress. We need the rain so I'm not going complain.

I might have a buyer lined up for the stock anglia drivetrain. But they want the rear and I haven't pulled it yet. Was hoping to leave it in until I had a plan for the rear. I guess that will force me to make a plan.

Still open to ideas on cheap 5x4.5 rear axles.

Trailer sticks are available in that pattern, you just need to add wheel cylinders to make the brakes hydraulic.

Yeah I thought about that. Only thing would be making the brakes work and an ebrake.
