So my buddy bought this truck for his wife...ish. On a lazy Saturday he told me we were going on a 500+km road trip. Bought it for $5K, lots of new parts, rattle can paintjob and a bunch of spare parts. Here she is when we got her home, ran ok, kinda:

First things first, rookie mistake by PO, 850CFM carb on the truck, ran like crap. SO my buddy decided to change the carb......and do an Edelbrock top end kit, intake/heads/carb/cam and some hooker headers.

Operating room ready for patient:

Lots of shiny new parts:

Starting the removal:

Where we got to the first night....01:30 AM

Heads going on:

Heads on, valve lash:

Intake on:

New headers and wrap:

Together:

And running:

The aftermath:

She is running open headers so its about as loud as a WW2 fighter right now.

So far this is whats happened to it....next up suspension, brakes and some bodywork. We installed a small cowl hood but it doesnt fit...at all...not even a little, so that will take some work.

Cool, I've got a '72 C10 myself. Went a different way with the build after finding a cracked block - ended up swapping in a 4.8. I look forward to seeing more on this one.

Sweet, thats the way I would go with a truck like this. An LSX swap would be awesome!!

Some suspension, brake, interior and bodywork. Make it pretty, safe and comfortable for the wife. The interior is pretty barren....needs some sound and heat insulation and a dash.
