It's just sooo heavy. 4,400 lbs on the Challenge scales. There are way better chassis out there for your powertrain. Especially with those highway gears.

I want it!! How bad was the rust on the floor-pans and frame? I want to drive it home to NY though, any chance you or someone you know would accept money to swap the trans? Time to research how much used/rebuilt 4l60e are going for....

It's honestly not rusty at all. I repaired the only big rust spot a few pages back. I know a guy at work that rebuilds GM trans on the side, he'd probably do it for $300 or so. I just have zero interest in pulling that engine...again...for the 3rd time...though I might recoup a few of my missing sockets laugh Wife would flip if that thing showed up in the driveway again!

i think that's owner number 3 after you selling it right now, i met owner number 2 while he had it and it was starting to get rough from abuse by then.

Unfortunately I didn't find any free sockets, just fiberglass and suffering

I have it now, supposedly it has a new tranny in it, and I just put a new engine in it

Great!  What’s going on with that water pump?  Opti is still present but there’s no longer reverse-flow cooling on this engine?

The reverse flow cooling is still there, and what's wrong with the waterpump?

Still trying to decide that, right now I'm just chasing down little problems, I managed to get a obd1 code reader and scan it

The Roadmonster saga continues!

When it traded the car to the next owner, I included an OBD1 to USB adapter Guess it got lost before you got the car. I was using a program called EEHack to tune the old engine. Alternatively you can read engine codes through the climate control. Can't remember exactly how but you can google around.

You found FIBERGLASS on it?? Geez it really got abused since I last had it... The body was straight when I had it, minus one rust patch that I did with actual metal a few pages back. Poor wagon. Hopefully the interior is still as pristine as I remember it.

Plastic around the radio was stabbed out with a screwdriver, looked like someone tried to take it out, driver and passenger door panels are totally shot and the speakers were ripped out, I got donor ones from a 92 Ford escort, but the seats are immaculate

Debating whether or not to sell it, it needs a lot more work, but I already dropped about 1000-1500 on the engine

That breaks my heart about the interior. At least those comfy road sofa seats are still good.

I have the flares that open up the rear wheel openings if you feel like stuffing huge meats back there

The guy i knew that had it at some point between Maschinenbau and Woodie had it loaded up with boomdy-boom speakers and subs, he probably ripped it all out before parts with the car.

It's running a little rough, I think I got it down to some vacuum line but I cannot for the life of me find where it goes, I have it running to the canister under the passenger fender but I'm pretty sure it didn't run there before

Sorry. I put on my reading glasses and took a better look. The awesome-looking orange paint bedazzled me, I guess.

It does not like the cold, it surges pretty bad till it warms up. Still surges at idle which is annoying
