(this may not actually be true, my spine has been compressing)
Smarter then me, my forever home is a 2 story I'm now looking at selling when my kids move out so I can get a single story and not do stairs. You certainly work fast, but I'm guessing the plan is be done outside work when the nice Ohio winter starts?

I think you might have a year on me, no? I turned 40 in july
You're 3 days older than I am. And that's coming along nicely!
Zoning lady meeting complete, should have my permits next week so i can send my stuff to the county for the building permits.

“Hello, front entry way”
You forgot to call it sir. The front entryway is definitely an officer.
I agree with future proofing as far as a second story. I really don’t have problems with stairs, as I’m still fairly young (I turned 34 in May) but given I’m starting to have knee problems I get it. Also my parents are starting to get to that age and when you see them struggle it makes you think. Also last week the parents had a pipe fail in their 2nd story bathroom which needless to say was a berkleying nightmare to repair. Thankfully the leak was shut off immediately since the first floor has the 50s textured plaster ceilings that no one does anymore.
To all the smart shiny happy people here this evening .....let's try this whut kinda door RU gonna hang on the front uf yur 4ever house.....bubba???? better???
I like my front door, i put it in when we bought the house. There's a wall right next to it inside so no doors with sidelights. It's a nice fiberglass door that needs some paint
Thank you.....was not sure of what your tastes are.....actually would a new entry surround ....semi mini port de cochere ish be a possibility ????
I'm fully in support of no stairs.
That said, some sick ramps up to a second floor would be a fun design challenge.
I need to mention that DeadSled aka Jonah came over Tuesday and today and we got all the osb on the roof and got the underlayment on. My last stuff that can be done before permits and foundation is chopping off the old overhangs and framing/osb the new gable end.

yeah that just physically cannot happen in this house. From the inside there's a wall directly right of the door and it's 78" tall because the original wall is short and i had to cut the door down to slide under the header. It was a porch at some point so there are angle ripped 2x4 below the floor there.
I knew that I just wanted to see your response to my nonsense......No Harm K????
still would look pretty kool spending your $$$$ wink late g'night
Yesterday i had a close call with a ladder slipping out from under me leading to me hanging off the roof by 1 arm, then two, then pulling myself up. Ladder was on the wet deck. There's now a 2x4 screwed to the deck to keep that from happening again. Today i'm incredibly sore.
working on closing up the gable end on driveway side.
threw $4800 at Menards for my roofing materials. Those should be here 3-4 weeks
Rusty is gone! My scrap guy came and gave me $75. I'd have given it to him for nothing. I now have zero cars that need to go away for the first time in a very long time.

no doubt. he'd better get another POS in the driveway but quick!

I see what you did there.
today I went up, it got really windy, so i disembarked the roof and stayed on the ground. Building permit applied for. Looks like another $250 to the gubmint on top of the $205 for zoning permits. Have to get the roof "repair" buttoned up and new wall area wrapped before an inspector comes for the footing inspection. I will likely strip the old siding and just wrap the 3 sides that are staying just so it looks less like "hey look at my new roof" and more like "i got all these other permits, how about those sweet holes i dug?"
another $235 to the health department. Inspection of septic system for additional bedroom even though no addition people. Monday he called me, I asked "out of curiosity what do you look for" then I fixed everything that wasn't "right" and called back to schedule the inspection.
just uploaded my department of energy compliance certificate, health department report should be good to go tomorrow, then I wait for them to approve my plans. slowly pressing forward on the roof over the rest of the house. time to wrap that up and get the deck ready to remove.
