I've got an opinion: If you want to hide something, but can't, go the opposite direction and overemphasize it so it appears intentional.

I guess this might as well go in this thread, as the thing I built is a shop tool, and not really associated with any of my other stalled builds.

First thing, I got some I-beams, and spent some time cutting, grinding, and even hand filing them to ensure they were as square, true, and nice as I could make them.

Much anal retentiveness ensued.

In honor of Bad Obsession Motorsports, I painted my rudimentary frame jig blue.

Then flipped it, for real.

And finally, put the X1/9 on it.

 The whole lot then got unceremoniously shoved back in the garage.

The frame is doing its job, in that I now know the X is 3/8" or so helixed. The hope is that this thing will help me straighten that out, as well as hold it in place so I can cut huge chunks out of it, and rebuild them bigger, stronger, and faster.

Let's be honest, though. In a lot of ways, I built the frame because I got sick of tripping over the damn pieces. Now that E36 M3 is out of the way. On to the next.
