I am making every possible mistake that can be made when painting a car. Wrong pressure, clogged dryer, wrong mixture, not cleaning enough, clogged cup vent, clogged everything, berkeleying flies and gnats, I mean every POSSIBLE thing. I wetsanded everything back down and started over. I'm doing much better now, but yeah...this has been an experience.
Also, I'm like 75% sure I got sent the wrong color. This is way more teal than aqua, like 90s pimpmobile, not a metallic version of BRE blue like I hoped. But digging it all the same.
The amc was supposed to be burgundy....

If your gun came with one of these filters at the interface of the cup-to-gun, I trust you have tossed it in the garbage?
It is meant to filter the paint but in reality causes more trouble than not. Use the cones to filter your paint as you pour it into the cup.

I've been doing both, but you really don't need that baby filter? I guess as long as my cup is clean I should be good?

My good paint gun never had one. The cheaper primer gun did and it was not happy when painting the move viscous primers, out it went and life got better.

The strainer removal was a good call. And only had one other instance of tape peel-off, even though it was on for a few days. So it looks teal in some light like in my garage, blue in other light like in this is tree shade. I'll get more photos in direct sun after I have a chance to buff it. And it needs a gooood buffin. Lots of dusty patches and weird textures. But overall I'm very pleased. It even fired right up after sitting for almost a month.

Wow, great job, I second the comment that that was the perfect place to cut the blue to white. It sort of hides the flare and helps it blend with the body, then you realize it's a huge flare. If it was white it would have stood out like a sore thumb. Now it plays with the body line. Love it
