Ya know, I have a c5 z06 cover that would fit your car well (or maybe regular c5 - i don't know, it fit my c5Z). I sold my vette and don't need it. If you want to cover shipping, it's yours. I would roll it up as tight as possible to fit the smallest/cheapest box lol. PM me if interested!

Truly appreciate the offer, i have a C4 cover, but i have found the tarp secures better/easier when the sea breezes whips. plus it just looks so good. lol.
front upper arms progress. My autocrossing, picturing taking, tig welding buddy filled the holes yesterday and i punched new ones today.
Moved the hole inboard 1/2". By my seemingly simple math (tan formula) that should net a bit more than 5 deg of potential neg camber.
In reply to Go_Gators :
Haha all good. I do dig the tarp lol.

............ anyone need whats left of some very expensive mufflers?
Any chance the mufflers are still available ? I could use them on my LS Swapped TR4.
In reply to Indy "Nub" Guy :
indeed, they are taking up space in my shed.... will send you a pm.
Can you give me details on the a-arm welding? Did they get pre-heated? What TIG rod? Post heat-treatment?
I got to ride in this today. It's brutal in a very good way.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
YES ! ! ! !
In reply to Indy "Nub" Guy :
Yeah I got your mufflers. Not that I cared one bit about them. It was all about the kart.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
Nice to finally meet ya! Always, always up for an excuse to take the kart out.
In reply to TVR Scott (Forum Supporter) :
Yea, i did a thread when we did the rears almost exactly one year ago. The fronts we did the same way. no heat treatments, used the same ER5356 filler.
here is the link!
In reply to Go_Gators :
Cool. Thanks for that info. Did you pre-heat the parts before welding?
In reply to TVR Scott (Forum Supporter) :
No, he put quite a bit of heat into it with the tig prior to adding material, but we didnt take a torch to it. Overall, it go hot enough that you could smell the bushings at the other end,,,,
so is there a tapered plug that gets welded into the original hole? or is it just open up the angle of the original hole from both sides and fill it with molten rod? i could see this being beneficial on my C4 front uppers. you know, for the 2026 Challenge.
In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :
Its the latter, opening up the hole to get the tig torch into the middle area. Use large drill bit to open it up quickly, but if your shooting for '26.....
You probably already saw this, but on the off chance you missed it:
In reply to Indy "Nub" Guy :
Yep, honored to have my junk in print.
Ran the kart at FIRM on saturday with Jax Solo. Pretty happy with my fairly consistent times. Kart was super loose with the rear bar connnected, new front tires didnt help that condition.. but front grip was superb. DIsconnected the rear sway bar after my third or fourth run and it felt much better. Got 9th overall raw time behind a GTR, GT4, M2 and a couple 1LEs and C7s. Not bad company for my pile.
Some guy named JG took a bunch of pics, thanks JG!! They showed a shocking amount of body roll... i have been running my base C5 front and rear bar, but will be going back on the Z51 front bar for the next event.
In reply to Go_Gators :
You can just buy one of those other cars.
LS1 Kart FTW!
In reply to Floating Doc (Forum Supporter) :
Could. But i would be scared to use it and what fun would that be?

Meant to imply that the LS1 Kart is special because you can't just buy one.
In reply to Floating Doc (Forum Supporter) :
Ha! These days, you can, but it would be 1LE or M2 type money!!
Video from inside the kart and out. Included are my brief failures to maintain tires on the tarmac...
Good times. Looking forward to the next event there on Oct 3!
youtube link
Indeed, Oct 3 was worth looking forward too!
Certainly the best finishing position for the kart to date.
Placed 7th overall raw time. 97 total drivers.
Ahead of me, only two cars with doors. One our clubs reigning overall champ in a GTR. The other car, a new Supra piloted by two of the biggest names in autocross. The slower of which on saturday, was on the cover of SCCA magazine last month. The other 3 spots ahead of me were Stalkers (lotus7 replicas) on slicks, again well know cars and drivers regionally and nationally. Good company for my junk.
Comparing times a few of the clubs consistent drivers from the FIRM event in Sept to this past Saturday, with my times, it appears i gained about 1.5sec against the competition. which, of course, is huge. I think it was all setup. I was on the same set of tires, same pressures. This month i ran the Z06 front sway bar (previous base bar) and left the rear sway bar connected for all the runs. i also ran with the wing in its more vertical orientation.
Going to stick with this combo!
