On April 28th I posted this:
I'm so glad I'm not buying any more cars. GLWS.
Few minutes later I'm reading a post by SKJSS (formerly Klayfish) when I see pictures of his new to him C3 Corvette. Having followed some of his post I knew he had automotive ADHD worse than me. On a whim I PMed him asking that if he got tired of it to let me know since a C3 was on my bucket list. I didn't think anything of it until last Friday he emailed me saying that actually he might be willing to move on.
We talked over the week and did due diligence until yesterday evening we agreed on the deal. First let me say that he gave me a great deal. He could have sold it easily for more than he offered it to me. He gave it to me at his cost and had been great dealing with this whole week.
Let's get some pictures in here which I'm going to steal from him.
Front and back.
This is where the magic happens.
Basic description of the car is 77 manual trans C3 built for HPDE. Rear coilover conversion using good parts. Motor is a 355 with a Holley carb on a Summit Racing intake. Aluminum heads and headers as you can see. Specs on some of the stuff are missing but I'm hoping to figure it out.
So why is a C3 on my bucket list? Let's go back to 1986. Then 15 year old Stampie is in Chemistry class with most of the other students a year ahead of me. One of those students turns out to be the school drug dealer. He drives an all black 82 C3 because well dealer. I still remember the first time I saw it. I could take you to the exact spot I was standing when he pulled up beside me leaving school. The hips on that C3 stirred unnatural thoughts in my teenage mind.
That's why we're in a hotel west of Atlanta waiting for the morning to get the C3. Now I need to figure out what wheels and tires to get. Oh yeah I need to look into chest hair implants, order me some gold chains, and does anyone here paint hood murals?
