Time to get fuel to this old ford.

So the tank is up and filler neck is back in.

In my original orientation the hoses were extending outside the tank body and getting caught on the undercarriage. Rotated the electric fuel pump and we are good to go.

Header interference problem. Now that I shifted the motor a inch forward I'm hitting on the upper control arm bracket. Should I have any qualms about cutting the upper bracket?

I never mess with suspension components if something else can be modified to fit. Unless the components are clearly overbuilt.

Yeah heating and beating will damage the ceramic coating for sure.   I fought header clearance issues a lot on my Cougar.  Second set I bought are raw steel and gave me the clearance I needed.  They’re coming off this winter for a trip to the ceramic coating spa.   

But denting in the header tubes won’t impact engine performance  negatively in the videos I’ve seen. 

I said headers were going on today. Time for a shower. Still need to torque bolts down and put the starter on. Good day today.

Picked up a working Miller 255 for free.

Mocked up the power steering reservoir, cdi box, coil and condenser. 

Used welding wire to mock up the hoses I need made. I will bring them in to motion tomorrow and get hoses made.

Motion was zero help. So on to doing it myself. Got the houses plumped and power steering assembly  installed.

So much quality going into this build.  +1, would follow again.

Have ten minutes do ten minutes.

Got some more insulating done on the garage.

Need to get back to the galaxie. Gonna get some parts on order to try and resolve the radiator fan fitment issues

Anyone have recomendations on led shop lights? The flourecents need to go

I ised the utilitech from lowes. Over a year so far, no failures.

Ive got the Feit 4' long LED shop lights from Costco all over the place.  They go on sale for $20 each and the newer versions can be linked together. 

Nice score on the MIG too!

Damn, a build thread I wish I found Months ago!

I picked up a 67 Country Squire (wagon version of the galaxie) from Colorado back in January and roadtripped it back to MA. Have started a similar build, and finding this would have saved a lot of effort trying to track down bits and pieces. 

I've been mocking up a shroud at home for the 3 core Champion radiator (since yay! another single year part berkeleyery), and trying to centermount the fan is causing all sorts of fun. I've reworked the idea to an offset fan, which gives room for the rubber vent flaps anyways, but longterm I was looking at the serpantine kits, and your interference issues aren't promising there.  Right now, I'm just under 8" from front of radiator to back of the motor hub on the SPAL fan. Any idea of your depth and amount of interference? 

I was close to getting a single motor fan to fit on my '69 Cougar with a 1" deep shroud.  Unfortunately it didn't flow enough air to keep things cool.  Deeper shroud and dual smaller fans got me clearance and temp control.

I have - though after I had found mine. Rather than clutter up Norma's build thread, I'll start one on the wagon. 

@norma, once again, love the galaxie, definitely interested in how you make out with fixing the shroud fun.
