Thinking more after last night, step one is centering the axle step two is notches. Step 3 is everything else.

step one is nor replacing the bent axle. Found why it wasn't square and the rear brajes never stayed in adjustment.
Is there a drop-in five bolt axle that has discs that you could swap in that's also up to the task of doing truck stuff? I can't think of one off the top of my head...
Also, since I'm in this deep already, I'm going to go ahead and read Notch and box the frame. It will always bug me if I don't.

8.8 is the closest i can think of. However, local yard has a warranty on a 3.42 geared stock replacement rear delivered to my shop for $250. Im hitting the easy button.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the easy button in this case. Maybe at some point down the road you could swap on discs to the stock replacement if you really hate dealing with the drums that much.
Im hoping that when everything is back in spec and rebuilt that the drums work as intended.
Salvage yard called a minute ago and said that they may have the rear ready tonight yet.
Unfortunately I put the pressure washer away, since i thought i was done. Oh well.

I guess that rear tire took more impact than originally thought
Agreed! Jeremy had replaced the axle shaft as the hub face was bent. I saw no other obvious signs until today. Musta been a helluva hit.

Best as i could. Seems to be tweaked about 1/16 from flange of brake backing plate to leaf spring pad towards the rear. Making that wheel toed out. Measured toe out of 3/8 as well on the rear axle. So im fairly certain that its bent.

Thinking about it. Hit the easy button. Why make more work for yourself. Time vs money. Plenty to do elsewhere. Besides, working brakes, and suspension are nice.
Yup. Easy button. Swap the rear (wasn't ready tonight) after a quick clean and paint. Change the fluid, build the brakes, be done. Easy button.
And to those of you reading this:
You guys doing parking lot builds, working in single car garages, outside in the dirt, etc: my hats off to you. You guys have BALLS. this stuff is tough enough in a climate controlled, well lit space with all sorts of tools. But you guys go to another level. Thank you all for inspiring me.

Maybe arrange to have the spare from Patrick arrive if the drums don't work out so you can rebuild it with discs, LSD, etc. for a quick and easy swap.
Bro.....I woulda chimed in earlier ,but life has gotten in the way (stayin' in D'Iberville Ms. workin in Mobile Al. first job i've had in 2.5 yrs). This speaks to me.....I've done the lowered front lCA's and the dearched rear leaf's.....and someday soon the SSBT full on brake swap will occur (13'sfront/11's rear$$$$), but my very favorite part of all this is the wokbowlTBI whoodathoughtit............effen brilliant!!!!!and to think i spent $$$ for the high zoot spun allomeum spacer......your resourcefulness speaks volumes!!!!
