uh is that MR2 part of your stable ? Dude these TR'S are so stinkin' clean are you having to travel great distances to fetch these?

Actually, I have this red MR2 and a black restored one with a V6.  As far as the TR's not really, picked up the recent one in Bedford, VA. It was a barn find that was semi-restored and given the worst paint job I have seen in a long time. But solid, runs and drives and has a new interior and top, so was a great deal for what I paid for it.

Wow, that TR4 is going to be nice.

I must admit a certain desire for a wedge myself.  A nice TR8 coupe or X1/9 would be fine.

Now That is a brilliant color choice. (bold/italics is smarter than me. Still works)

The LeMan's style fender vents are really a nice subtle addition.

yes

Was that your client's request for style or necessary to keep things cool under the bonnet?

The car never ran hot, but he like the look and I think it will really help to complete the Aston Martin vibe of this car. The car will have 72 spoke Dayton chrome wires on it, we are just waiting on the tires from Coker, so it still has my old Minilite knockoffs on it for now.

What kind of Coker tire is going under her?

I like the color of that car. The progress looks amazing. The rims on this car remind me of the Konig wheels Rewind model. I've seen a similar pattern at stores like 4WheelOnline.

Well the car is progressing, work on it daily, slow but steady progress. Wiring has progressed to the engine compartment, this car is pretty complicated with electric power steering, EFI, and AC.

Glad to see more progress with the car.  Is that a Surrey top I spy on there ?

Well done.

Continued progress this week, now looks more like a car with the doors and front fenders installed. Glass too, so now will be focusing on getting the engine compartment buttoned up so we can get closer to the first start in early April!

I don't think I posted the final result of the restoration/recreation. Car was delivered to the owner in the Spring and it is now back in the shop for some minor updates (smaller steering wheel, bigger cooling fan, list of little things to get right). Owner posted this video, it really is a beautiful car! Almost hard to believe this was my old TR4A that I bought in 1989.

Thanks, it was a ton of work, lots of learning and fabrication to make it all work together.

Building this car's "sister" now. 1970 GT6 with a Rover V8, 5 speed and the R160 Nissan rear end that works so well in GT6's and Spitfires. This one will be Aston Martin Caribbean Blue Metallic and should really be a stunning car as the bodywork is being done on a rotisserie. Pictures as soon as it is in epoxy primer.

I'll start a new thread once I get it back from the paint shop, but here is a teaser of the 1970 GT6+ and the paint color for the car!
