This car is being sold by the wife of a buddy of mine. One owner Cabrio with 123K and kept in very good condition.

He thinks it might go to $10k. What does the Hive think it will bring?

My screen name is derived from my long-term ownership of a '92.

If two people want the car - $10k is very attainable.  I think these cars are worth more than the market does, but still...

I'm going to go lower and say 8k. I just don't think the demand is there for any of the VW Cabriolet and even the later Cabrio.

Solid roof rabbit or Golf , boom! Especially if a 2 door over the four doors.

The late ones with the big bumpers seem to command a premium, these are more college girl than collector.

Nostalgia may raise the price if there are bidders from the era of the "Coreys" and films like "license to drive".

So the condition of the car as a survivor is amazing.  Minty interior, exterior, and top on a cabby this age is rare.

I just don't think people care about the Cabby's as much as the other MK1's of the era.  The big bumper last gens might bring 10k to the right person.  Not that they aren't worth it as Bludroptop says.  I'd toss out 6K and be thrilled if it brought that.

Best of luck to them and hopefully the combination of spring and a really clean and fairly indestructible VW bring them good numbers.

There was a guy who autocrossed one of these with hogged out fenders, huge slicks and a JH and slayed.

Sold for $8500.  "Well bought" is what I think is said in these situations.

If that's under $10k, what's a slightly ratty driver go for???

My guess at 8k was pretty close.

I think I've seen ratty drivers around 3-4k listed. Even prices of Cabrios seem up. I had one years back that then went to my Mom, and she upgraded to an EOS.
