So it is a real one (of 7). It's car #4 (https://amx3.org/chassis-4/) and it is largely the first "production" version as #1-3 were all prototypes and differed wildly. It is also the only teal one. It was auctioned on eBay in 07 partially restored with no sale and bidding over $100K (https://www.autoblog.com/2015/01/27/rare-amc-amx3-classic-car-ebay-auction/#slide-1472691). It appears to have been restored after that and has otherwise been hidden away it's entire life. Outside of cars 6 and 7, which have both remained in Italy since completion, this is the "least seen" car. Seeing as how car #2 sold for $795,000 in 2017 (https://www.sportscarmarket.com/profile/1969-amc-amx3), this car at $400K could be a real bargain. I talked to my grandpa (who installed the motor in #5) and my dad about it and there's some family friends with more capital that can hopefully scoop the car up.

And for those of you that don't know yet, the clay/fiberglass "pushmobile" AMX/3 (or car #0) was found in 2007 (http://www.amx390.com/0.html) and the owner made molds to sell repo bodies (http://www.amx390.com/body.html). My dream is to buy one of those bodies one day and build a chassis for it (likely on the FF GTM chassis). I mean, just look at it:

Problem was in between concept and production the Miura, Dino, and Pantera all came out. It was way too expensive and didn't have the performance (huge aero lift like the original J-car/GT-40). That AMC even had the cajones to make 10 of them is insane.

In reply to californiamilleghia :

There's at least three fiberglass bodies. Lexan makes a windshield laugh
